After connecting all status indicators are grey and zero updates per second.
a. The devices are not powered. All devices need to be connected to a 230V power source.
b. The CAN network is not properly connected or the end resistor is not connected.
When initializing the sequence aborts and the applications shows a homing error.
The device can not drive through its full path, because of an obstruction.
Top ranking obstructions are: screws, mounts and humans.
To prevent personal injury or damage to the unit, always disconnect the power cable to the unit, before working on, or near it.
The E2CAN Gateway LC is not shown under "USB Device" in the "USB HID" tab of the settings window.
a. The E2CAN Gateway LC is not connected to the PC with a USB cable.
b. The driver for the Gateway did not install correctly.
The "E2Can Gateway LC" uses a standard HID driver, which is shipped with every Windows from XP onwards.
When connecting the Gateway, the driver will be automatically installed.
But, as the HID stack of Windows isn't error free, this installation seldom fails and leaves the device in a kind of "limbo state".
To fix this, open the "Device Manager", find your device by comparing the listing with the device unplugged and plugged in,
open the properties window of that device and click on "Update driver".
When the installation is finished, unplug the device for about ten seconds.
The connection to Microsoft Flight Simulator can be established, but the simulation does not react to any inputs.
Microsoft Flight Simulator Service pack 1 & 2 need to be installed.
The hardware update rate is slow.
Procedures vary depending on connection type:
Connected over USB virtual COM port with update rate below 20:
Please ensure you followed the steps described in the help section Configuring the virtual COM port.
Connected over Ethernet with update rate below 50:
Ensure that you are connected to the gateway/device with a LAN cable.
Connecting over WLAN or PowerLAN(DLAN) is discouraged because of latency reasons
and Brunner Elektronik AG may not provide any support to such setups.
A separate network containing only the gateway/device and the host computer running CLS2Sim is encouraged.
If such a hardware setup can not be realised, please ensure that there is not much other traffic on the network.
Connected over USB HID with update rate below 50.
Ensure that you are connected over USB HID and not over USB virtual serial port.
Ensure that you are connected to a USB 2 or USB 3 port.
If you are connected over USB HID or Ethernet and the update rate is below 50,
please contact info@beh.ch by email, with logfiles attached.
The buttons don't always trigger or need to be pressed for an extended amount of time to trigger.
This is in most cases the result of a low hardware update rate. See above.
When starting CLS2Sim, the main window doesn't show, but the process is visible in task manager.
Some antivirus softwares, Avast for example, analyse a program that is started before allowing it to run normally.
With Avast the testing does never finish and the program never shows on screen. Adding CLS2Sim as an exception will solve the problem.
Yoke or gateway connected by USB connects and disconnects continuously.
